Union Minister Jitendra Singh lays foundation stone for Rs 55-crore ‘green’ building in Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 25 (UNI) union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art “green” building at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) in Jammu.
The new Biological, Chemical and Quality Control & Quality Assurance (QCQA) block, sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 54.55 crore, will augment the institute’s research infrastructure with advanced laboratories and support facilities for scientists and researchers. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Addressing the gathering, Singh said the recently conferred Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar by the President of India to “Team Aroma Mission” under CSIR-IIIM marked a national recognition of the “Purple Revolution” that originated in Jammu and Kashmir.
