San Francisco-New Delhi Air India flight diverted to Mongolia due to suspected technical issue

Ulaanbaatar/New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) A New Delhi-bound Air India flight AI174, which took off from San Francisco in the US on November 2, was diverted to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, as a precautionary measure due to a suspected technical issue. The airlines has sent a relief flight to bring the 228 passengers to New Delhi.
The Indian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar posted that on November 3, Air India Flight AI 174, operating from San Francisco to New Delhi via Kolkata, made a precautionary landing at around 1959 hrs at Ulaanbaatar International Airport in Mongolia.
On receipt of information from Air India, one hour prior to the landing, a team of Embassy officials were immediately deputed at the Airport to facilitate immigration and hotel stay of the 228 passengers plus crew members.
