S. Korean, Japanese senior military officials hold talks for 1st time in 9 years

Seoul, July 10 (UNI) South Korean and Japanese senior military officials held talks in Tokyo on Wednesday for the first time in nine years, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported, citing the country's defence ministry.

The meeting comes amid a push by the two countries to bolster bilateral ties in the face of North Korea's perceived security threats. The previous meeting was held in August 2015.
