Rs 300 cr investment in Life Sciences sector to create 250 jobs in Genome Valley: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad, Mar 15 (UNI) Telangana Minister for IT, Industries and Commerce Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Sunday announced that US-based Cambridge Isotope Laboratories (CIL) and Hyderabad-based Chem Thathva Chiral Solutions will jointly establish an advanced manufacturing facility in Genome Valley with an investment of Rs 300 crore.
The Minister said the companies plan to invest the amount over the next three years and set up the facility in Phase–4 of Genome Valley in Hyderabad. The project is expected to generate employment for around 250 people.
Sridhar Babu revealed that the decision was conveyed by the CEOs of both companies during a meeting with him at the Secretariat on Sunday, according to an official statement.
He said Telangana is steadily emerging as a global hub for Life Sciences and Speciality Chemicals, and the partnership between Cambridge Isotope Laboratories and Chem Thathva reflects the growing confidence of international companies in the state.
He stated that the proposed state-of-the-art facility will manufacture isotope-labelled compounds, which are widely used in pharmaceutical research, metabolic studies, diagnostic testing, modern electronics, organic electroluminescent materials (OLED) and the semiconductor sector. Once operational, the project will help reduce the country’s dependence on imports of such products.
The Minister noted that companies are choosing to invest in Genome Valley due to its strong industrial ecosystem, availability of skilled scientists, world-class infrastructure and the state government’s progressive policies.
Chem Thathva Chiral Solutions CEO Dr Vishal Rajput said the collaboration with Cambridge Isotope Laboratories would help build world-class manufacturing capabilities in Telangana.
