Rani Mukerji raises awareness against cybercrime at Maharashtra Police event

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji today attended the inaugural function of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 at the Maharashtra Police Headquarters, stressing the growing concern over cybercrime affecting women and children.
Mukerji, known for her role as a police officer in the "Mardaani" film franchise, joined the event alongside Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, and actor Akshay Kumar.
Addressing the audience, the actress praised the Maharashtra Police Cyber Cell and highlighted the invisible threat of digital crimes.
“Today, cybercrimes, especially against women and children, are silently increasing within what is considered our safe abodes. As a woman and a mother, I understand how important awareness is. True safety begins when families know how to stay safe and where to seek help,” Mukerji said.
She called the Dial 1930 and Dial 1945 helplines a "boon" for all citizens.
“As an artiste, I bring stories to life on screen, but as a woman, mother, and citizen, I feel it is our collective responsibility to ensure that no child cries silently, no woman feels unsafe, and no family loses its peace due to cybercrime,” she added, urging citizens to remain vigilant.
The actress is currently filming "Mardaani 3," scheduled for release on February 27, 2026.
