Rajnath lays foundation stone of rail coach unit

Raisen (MP), Aug 10 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today performed the bhoomipujan of a rail coach unit -- the Brahma Project (BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing) that is to come up on more than 60 hectares in Umariya village of this district of Madhya Pradesh at a cost of Rs 1,800 crore.
The bhoomipujan took place at the Dussehra Maidan in Obeidullaganj near the Bhopal district border. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar, Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar and Bharat Earth Movers Project Chairman Shantanu Rai were among those present at the programme. On this occasion, a short film focused on the Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) project, 3D walk-through of the proposed plant and models of new plants were displayed.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said under the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state is getting a major gift of a rail coach unit.
