Odisha Govt reviews launch of ‘E-Hundi’ facility for Puri Jagannath Temple

Bhubaneswar, June 3 (UNI) In an attempt to strengthen devotees’ engagement with the Shree Jagannath Temple and facilitating digital donations, the Odisha Government on Wednesday reviewed the proposed introduction of an E-Hundi system that will enable devotees from across India and abroad to make offerings online with ease and transparency.
A high-level meeting in this regard was held at Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. The meeting deliberated on the framework, operational modalities and security features required for the successful implementation of the digital donation platform.
Lord Jagannath commands the devotion of millions of followers residing across the country and in various parts of the world. Traditionally, devotees visiting Puri offer donations through the temple hundi as a mark of faith, gratitude and fulfilment of their wishes. The proposed E-Hundi facility seeks to extend this opportunity to devotees who are unable to visit the shrine physically but wish to contribute towards the temple's services and development.
