Maha: Sanjay Raut slams PM, Jaishankar after Pakistan gets credit for mediating

Mumbai, Apr 8 (UNI) Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP and chief Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for allowing Pakistan to get credit from President Donald Trump for mediating between the US and Iran.
“Pakistan has ended up getting the credit for mediating during the war. China is a big country, but Pakistan is getting credit for mediating between Iran and the US. Narendra Modi should have received this credit. India should have got this credit that we could bring Trump and Iran and Netanyahu to the negotiating table. Why did our great Vishwaguru not get this credit? That's because he had no role to play. A war was being fought but our great Vishwaguru was busy dropping bombs on his political opponents in Kerala, West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu,” Raut said on Tuesday.
“Our enemies like China and Pakistan got credit for mediating during the Iran-US war. A peace meeting will be held in Islamabad where the BJP wanted to hoist its flag during Operation Sindoor. Now Trump, Netanyahu and Iranian leaders will sit and hold peace talks in Islamabad. This is a shame for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India. Modi is responsible for the reputation which Pakistan has gained due to this. Trump has thanked Pakistan and China. This is a slap on the face of India and Modi. Modi should not remain in power now,” he said.
