Maha: People bathe in Godavari river after end of lunar eclipse

Nashik, March 3 (UNI) Hordes of people gathered at the Godavari and Panchnada in Ram Kund in Nashik to bathe and offer prayers after the end of lunar eclipse today.
People were astonished by the sight of the afternoon turning into evening. Many tried to view the rare celestial event through X-ray films. Prayers and chanting continued at the college during the eclipse period. People passed the time by singing hymns at home.
According to reports, after the solar eclipse, people took a dip in the Panchnada and offered prayers at temples in the city. This is why the crowds seen at rivers after the lunar eclipse were comparable to those seen during previous eclipses. In Godavari, Panchavati and Trimbakeshwar, people also took a dip in the river and offered prayers at temples.
