KTR slams CM Reddy for ‘heartless negligence’ as Gurukul Schools face closure over unpaid rents

Hyderabad, Oct 8 (UNI) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday, accusing the Congress government of allowing Telangana’s prestigious Welfare Gurukul Educational Institutions—once considered a model for the entire nation—to reach the brink of closure due to non-payment of building rents.
Describing the situation as “a disgraceful and heartless act,” KTR said locking up Gurukul schools that transformed the lives of lakhs of poor students marks a dark chapter in the state’s governance.
In a statement here, he accused the Chief Minister, who also holds the Education portfolio, of gross negligence, claiming that rent arrears had been pending for nearly a year.
