Kerala to roll out revamped CMEDP with loans up to Rs 5 crore at 6 pc interest

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 5 (UNI) The Kerala Government will launch the third edition of the Chief Minister's Entrepreneurship Development Programme (CMEDP), implemented through the Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC), on August 6, expanding financial support for entrepreneurs with loans of up to Rs 5 crore at a concessional interest rate of six percent.
Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan will inaugurate the revamped scheme and disburse the first batch of loans to selected beneficiaries at a function to be held at Lemon Tree Premier Hotel, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, at 12 noon.
The enhanced CMEDP has been designed to promote entrepreneurship, strengthen the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, and create more employment opportunities across Kerala. As part of the expansion, the maximum loan amount has been increased from Rs 2 crore to Rs 5 crore for both new and existing enterprises.
