Kerala CM-linked vehicle flagged for 18 traffic violations, Rs 13,750 fines

Thiruvananthapuram, May 6 (UNI): A vehicle allegedly linked to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has come under scrutiny after official records revealed it was involved in 18 traffic violations since 2024, with fines totaling Rs 13,750—several of which remain unpaid.
According to data from the Motor Vehicles Department, the car—registered in the name of the Kerala unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist)—was allegedly used as part of the Chief Minister’s convoy.
The violations include over-speeding, signal jumping, and failure to wear seat belts, most of them captured through AI-enabled traffic surveillance systems deployed across the state.
