Bengaluru, June 3 (UNI) At India Global Innovation Connect 2022 event, Infosys Founder NR Narayana Murthy was at his sublime best reeling out inspiring anecdotes for entrepreneurs to become successful. Among the many vivid narrations of inspirational events in his life as an entrepreneur, he shared his conversation with late industrialist Rahul Bajaj on the topic of having a management guru to succeed.

Murthy said he does not read management books, but learnt the lesson of being one of the best in the trade by putting into practice the inspirational words of Bajaj who told him that competition is the best management guru because it teaches entrepreneurs to make all the stakeholders including the employees and investors happy.

"I don't read management books. Because my late friend Rahul Bajaj taught me a very important lesson. In 1992 I went and met him. I was trembling because I was a nobody. He said what do you want? ' So I asked him - should I have a management guru?"

"He (Bajaj) says forget about all of that. Your competition is your best management guru. Competition will teach you to keep your customers happy. Provide better value of money to your customers; will Keep your employees happy; make your investors happy. All these things will come automatically if you embrace competition with an open mind. That lesson which I learnt from my revered senior, late Rahul Bajaj, is all that matters," Murthy said.

Murthy participated in an interaction with a noted media house at the event which is aimed at fostering and promoting technological innovation in India by discussing the issues and policies involved, identifying the openings and challenges brought by disruptive technologies.

Also by deliberating upon creating a channel of interaction between technology developers and business end-users.

The event is an opportunity for Bengaluru, as a high tech hub, to join other global event hosts with a top-level annual platform for Indian executives and academics to engage in a dialogue with their foreign peers and partners to initiate new ideas and relationships.

Meanwhile the state government has undertaken a slew of initiatives in the direction of aligning institutions and ecosystems, in order to harness the dividend from the transformational digital economy.
