Indian Staffing Federation announces new leadership to drive workforce formalisation

New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) The Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) on Wednesday announced its newly elected executive board for the 2026–2028 term, marking a strategic shift aimed at accelerating workforce formalisation and strengthening India’s flexi staffing ecosystem.
The apex industry body has appointed Manmeet Singh as President and Farhan Azmi as Vice President. The new leadership is expected to focus on enhancing social security frameworks, driving labour reforms, and supporting the expansion of formal contract employment in the country.
The executive board also includes prominent industry leaders such as K Pandiarajan, Narayan Bhargava, Neeti Sharma, Nitin Dave, Pramod Pachisia, R P Yadav, Sanju Ballurkar, and Somnath Banerjee. Representatives from the MSME segment include Baldev Raj Sachdeva, Jay Shah, and Nirupama V G.
The federation said the new board will prioritise strengthening the tripartite relationship between government, employers, and the workforce to ensure sustainable employment growth.
Sharing his vision, President Manmeet Singh said the staffing industry is at the forefront of India’s economic transformation, adding that the sector is moving from “advocacy in action” to a phase of sustained national growth. He emphasised the need to empower members through stronger supply chains and continued policy engagement.
Vice President Farhan Azmi highlighted that the industry currently supports over 7.2 million workers and will focus on bridging skill gaps and enhancing professional protections to maintain India’s competitiveness.
Reflecting on the transition, Lohit Bhatia, who finished his third consecutive term as President of ISF, said the sector has emerged as a key driver of formal employment during his tenure and expressed confidence that the new board will take livelihood generation to the next level.
The ISF, which represents over 130 member companies, has facilitated employment for more than 14.4 million individuals over the past 13 years and currently employs over 1.81 million flexi staff annually. The federation plays a key role in promoting recognised employment, fair compensation, social security, and health benefits for India’s temporary workforce.
