Uganda flags off team for 2026 Commonwealth Games

Kampala, July 17 (UNI) Ugandan Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has officially flagged off
the country's team for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The Games, which are expected to attract more than 2,000 athletes, will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2.

New Jersey, July 17 (UNI) Lamine Yamal and Pedro Porro trained separately from the rest of the Spain squad as the team began preparing for Sunday's World Cup final against Argentina.
Both players were seen stretching on the sidelines as their teammates trained at the New York Red Bulls' facility in New Jersey on Thursday.

FIFA introduces championship rings for World Cup winners

New York, July 17 (UNI) The winners of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will receive championship rings in addition to the traditional trophy and gold medals, FIFA announced.
The rings will be presented to the champions after Sunday's World Cup final at New York New Jersey Stadium, where Spain and Argentina will compete for the title.
The championship rings are part of a limited-edition collection of 2,026 individually numbered pieces commemorating the 2026 tournament.

Slovenia's Vincic to referee World Cup final

New York, July 17 (UNI) Slovenia's Slavko Vincic will referee Sunday's FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain, FIFA announced.
The other match officials are Tomaz Klancnik (assistant referee 1), Andraz Kovacic (assistant referee 2), Adham Makhadmeh (fourth official) and Mohammad Alkalaf (reserve assistant referee), FIFA said.
