HP becomes first state with ration cardless PDS system : Mins

Shimla, Apr 24 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh become the first model state to switch over its Civil Supply Corporation to new innovation of ration cardless distribution of Food items under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Revealing this in a press conference here on Tuesday, Food Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs Minister Kishan Kapoor said that people do not need to turn up with the ration card to get PDS quota, as with complete online system, they only require to give their mobile numbers.
He said after the complete linkage of Aadhar card with ration cards and issuing of paperless ration cards, the customers can take PDS quota from their Depot after giving the mobile number. Bill and cash memo would be issued to the customers through SMS.
