Foundation stone laid for tourism infrastructure at Vangchhia heritage site

Champhai, April 8 (UNI) Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the 'Development of Basic Amenities' project at Lal Mual in Vangchhia village, to be taken up under the PRASHAD Scheme.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister emphasised the need to preserve the authenticity and identity of Vangchhia, urging residents not to alter their way of life to suit visitors. He said tourists are primarily interested in experiencing the natural lifestyle and cultural practices of local communities, and therefore the people should welcome visitors as they are rather than attempting to present a modified image.
