Fadnavis defends infrastructure projects, calls Mumbai-Pune ‘Missing Link’ an engineering marvel

Mumbai, July 8 (UNI) As the Opposition tried to corner the government over the deteriorating condition of infrastructure amid heavy rains, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday strongly defended the state’s flagship infrastructure projects in the Legislative Assembly, describing the Mumbai-Pune Expressway’s ‘Missing Link’ as an “engineering marvel.”
He said that recent landslides had not compromised the project’s structural integrity and accused the Opposition of politicising natural disasters.
Replying to a discussion under Rule 293 regarding the impact of heavy rains and urban flooding in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), the Chief Minister hit out at the Opposition for questioning the viability of the Connecting Link project and dismissed the criticism as politically motivated.
