Explosive-Laden drone found near Ukrainian cargo plane at German airport, flights disrupted

Berlin, Aug 5 (UNI) German police deployed a bomb disposal robot at Leipzig/Halle Airport after an explosive-equipped drone was discovered on the tarmac near a Ukrainian cargo aircraft, triggering security concerns and temporary disruption of flight operations.
The drone, fitted with explosives and a detonator, was found near an aircraft operated by Ukrainian cargo carrier Antonov Airlines, a NATO spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday. The suspicious device was later destroyed in a controlled explosion, according to reports.
The incident occurred shortly before midnight when an unidentified flying object was detected near the airport, prompting authorities to divert several flights to other airports. A passenger aircraft and multiple cargo planes were among those affected.
