Digvijay Singh, Priyanka Gandhi part of Congress' committee to plan agitations

New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) Congress on Thursday formed a committee to plan sustained agitations on national issues.
The committee will be headed by party leader Digvijay Singh and party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is a part of the committee.
Other members of the committee are BK Hariprasad, Ripun Bora, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Manish Chatrath, Udit Raj, Ragini Nayak and Zuber Khan.
"No meetings have been held so far, but on issues like price rise, farm laws and other issues need sustained agitation. It is the need of the hour, need of the country, need of the people. Rahul ji is fighting, farmers are also fighting, but it should be more sustained," former MP from Delhi Udit Raj, who is a part of the committee, told UNI.
Congress has been attacking the government over issues like price rise and farm laws. These issues were also raised by a united Opposition in the recent Monsoon Session, and several protests were staged by Opposition MPs inside, and outside Parliament as well.
Opposition MPs had also visited a mock parliament being held by Samyukt Kisan Morcha at Jantar Mantar on August 6.

Cong welcomes SC order on SIR, accuses BJP of spreading disinformation, distorting facts

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) In an effort to counter what it called as "disinformation and distortion" by the BJP regarding the Supreme Court order on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, the Congress today said it was satisfied with the ruling, noting that the court had directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to accept the Aadhaar card, voter card and ration card as valid proof of identity.
Moreover, the party clarified that it "never pressed" for the stay of the SIR.
