Delhi ministers inspect Bawana Lal Flats, review housing and civic infrastructure issues

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Delhi ministers Ravinder Indraj Singh and Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday inspected the Lal Flats residential complex in Bawana to review housing, civic infrastructure and maintenance issues, with officials directed to expedite pending works across departments.
The inspection focused on the condition of the residential complex, including water supply, sanitation, sewerage, electricity, maintenance, and the status of flat allotments and possession. Senior officials from multiple agencies, including the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), district administration, Delhi Police and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), accompanied the ministers.
The Bawana complex comprises around 1,184 flats built by DSIIDC during 2010-11 under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) to provide housing for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families. A large number of families currently reside in the complex.

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned for two weeks the hearing on a petition by Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) challenging Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s decision recognising the merger of its six rebel MPs with the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

‘Every individual has right to travel abroad, choose medical treatment’: SC permits Abhishek Banerjee to go abroad

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) Observing that every individual has the right to travel abroad and choose his medical treatment, the Supreme Court on Monday permitted Trinamool Congress leader and MP Abhishek Banerjee to travel abroad for three weeks in September for treatment of his eye, while directing him to furnish his complete travel and treatment details to the investigating agency – West Bengal Police.
