China renews yellow alert for Typhoon Chaba

Beijing, July 1 (UNI/Xinhua) China's meteorological authority on Friday renewed a yellow alert for Chaba, the third typhoon of the year, as it moves closer to southern China.

The typhoon, which was observed on waters 250 km northeast of Yongxing Island in Hainan's Sansha City at 5 a.m., will move northwestward at a speed of 15 to 20 km per hour, with slowly increased intensity, the National Meteorological Center said in a statement.
