ZPM–Congress move toward post-poll coalition amid fractured Lai ADC verdict

Aizawl, Dec 11 (UNI) A new political realignment is taking shape in the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) as the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) and the Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) move closer to forming a post-poll coalition, according to political sources in Lawngtlai district.
The two parties, which together command the crucial majority, are engaged in intense backroom discussions to forge what could become the next ruling combine in the 25-member council.
Sources familiar with the developments said the proposed executive committee is likely to be headed by Congress lone winner C. Ngunlianchunga, though nothing has been finalised officially.
