YSRCP MLC alleges Rs 60 crore plantation scam in Nellore

Nellore, Apr 11 (UNI) YSR Congress Party MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy alleged that a massive Rs 60 crore scam, in the name of plantation works in Nellore Municipal Corporation, took place and accused Minister P Narayana of orchestrating large-scale misuse of public funds.
Addressing the media at the YSRCP office here on Saturday, he claimed that a plan was drawn to plant 48,000 saplings with an expenditure of nearly Rs. 12,000 per plant, far higher than the Rs. 750 per sapling spent during the previous YSRCP government.
“In the first phase alone, Rs 8.03 crore was paid for 14,741 saplings, with Rs 5,446 spent per plant, including tree guards, while an additional Rs 1.24 crore was estimated just for watering 1,800 plants, amounting to Rs 6,888 per plant for watering alone,” he slammed.
