Youth who murdered girl in Canada & fled to India, arrested by Sangrur Police

Sangrur, Jan 16 (UNI) Sangrur Police has successfully arrested a young man who had allegedly murdered a girl in Canada last October and fled to India after nearly three months.
Sharing this information, SSP Sangrur Sartaj Singh Chahal said that on October 20, 2025, a girl from Sangrur was murdered in Canada, a case which has now been solved by Sangrur Police.
Providing further details, SSP Chahal stated that Inderjit Singh, son of Channan Singh, resident Sangrur, submitted an application stating that both of his daughters, Gursimran Kaur and Amanpreet Kaur, were living in Canada. Amanpreet Kaur was residing in a rented accommodation in East York, Toronto, and was working as a Personal Support Worker in a hospital.

HPV vaccine to shield girls from Cervical Cancer: DC Kangra

Dharamshala, Feb 18 (UNI) A district-level coordination committee meeting was held in Kangra to ensure the successful rollout of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign aimed at protecting adolescent girls from cervical cancer.
The meeting was chaired by Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa and attended by senior officials, including Municipal Corporation Commissioner Zafar Iqbal, ADC Vinay Kumar, Chief Medical Officer Dr Vivek Karol, MS Zonal Hospital Dr Anuradha Sharma, District Health Officer Dr RK Sood, and other departmental representatives.
