Young man brutally beaten up in Beed, police arrest seven accused

Beed, May 18 (UNI) Following a minor dispute, a young man was beaten up by four persons who came on two wheelers and also made a video of the incident.
This incident took place in the mountains of Tokwadi. A case has been registered against 20 people in this case and seven people have been arrested.
Police said the victim Shivraj Divate, had gone to have dinner with a friend at a procession of guests at a temple in Jalalpur, Parli yesterday. After dinner, he was going to Limbuta village on a bike with a friend.

Maha govt to amend MCOCA to target gutkha suppliers: Fadnavis

Nagpur, Dec 9 (UNI) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday announced in the Assembly that the state government will move to amend the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) so that it can be used against suppliers and distributors of banned products such as gutkha, pan masala, and charas.
Fadnavis, who also holds the home portfolio, told the Assembly that under the current version of the Act, its invocation requires an element of threat or physical harm, a provision that makes it difficult to use against habitual vendors of banned products.
