Stockholm, Oct 9 (UNI) South African Indian-origin jurist Navanethem "Navi" Pillay has been announced as the winner of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her work to advance international law and promote peace. Jørgen Watne Frydnes, chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, announced the award on Friday, and highlighted Pillay's contribution to broadening the influence of international law and developing a more comprehensive global legal order.
