Nearly two million people issued evacuation orders in Japan as Typhoon Dujuan brings forth torrential rains

Tokyo, Sep 21 (UNI) Almost two million people were under evacuation orders in Japan on Monday as Typhoon Dujuan battered several prefectures, bringing torrential rain, strong winds, flooding and landslide risks. Japan's Meteorological Agency (JMA) had warned of an "imminent threat to life", although several alerts were later downgraded. The highest-level warning remained in force in Oshima Town in the Izu Islands, while level four warnings for heavy rain, flooding and landslides continued in several other areas.
