Nearly 10 civilians killed in deadly Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan's Helmand, Kunar provinces

Kabul, Oct 1 (UNI) At least 10 civilians, most of them children, were killed in Pakistani airstrikes on Afghanistan's Kunar and Helmand provinces, according to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) today. The UN mission said nine others were injured in the strikes, which took place amid renewed tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan following several months of relative calm. It called for an immediate de-escalation, warning that civilians continue to bear the brunt of cross-border hostilities.
