21 dead as heavy rains trigger floods and landslides across Nepal

Kathmandu, Sep 29 (UNI) At least 21 people have died in western and south-central Nepal after persistent heavy rains triggered floods, landslides and inundation, displacing more than 1,500 people and damaging hundreds of homes. The deaths have been reported in Baglung, Palpa, Myagdi and Dhanusha districts. According to preliminary data from the Gandaki Province Police Office, 11 people have died, four have been injured and four remain missing in rain-related incidents across the province. Floods, landslides and inundation have severely affected Baglung, Parbat, Manang, Nawalparasi East, Chitwan, Palpa and Dhanusha, among other districts. Police said at least 1,500 people from…
