World Bank-funded silk factory Srinagar, Bari Brahmana weaving factory to benefit 40,000 families

Srinagar, Jul 2 (UNI) The World Bank-funded modernised Government silk factory in Srinagar and silk weaving factory at Bari Brahmana, Jammu will benefit 40,000 families associated with the trade in Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said Thursday evening.
He said the newly-established Silk Filatures and Silk Weaving factory at Bari Brahmana and World Bank- funded modernised Government Silk factory at Rajbagh, Srinagar are set to benefit 20,000 families associated with the cocoon rearing each in the twin divisions of Kashmir and Jammu.
He said this information was given at a meeting chaired by the Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, M K Dwivedi, which was convened to review the functioning of new and modernised units of Jammu and Kashmir Industries Limited (JKI).
