Women's Quota Bill fails in Parliament; Maha CM Fadnavis and DCM Shinde slam opposition

Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) In a dramatic turn of events, the Indian Parliament witnessed an unprecedented political showdown today as the 'Constitution 131st Amendment Bill 2026' (Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam) failed to pass in the Lok Sabha.
Despite being introduced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government, the historic bill hit a technical roadblock, failing to secure the mandatory two-thirds majority required for a Constitutional Amendment.
The defeat of the bill has sparked a firestorm in Maharashtra’s political circles, with the state’s top leadership launching a scathing attack on the opposition.
