Woman crushed to death by elephants in Giridih

Giridih, Apr 7 (UNI) A woman was crushed to death by a group of elephants inside the Bajto forest located under Muffasil Police Station area of this district on Wednesday.
The deceased women have been identified as Lalita Devi (30). Like her daily routine, she had gone to collect Mahua inside the forest when she was attacked by the tuskers who trampled her to death.
Upon receiving information a team of the forest department reached on the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital. The kin of the woman was also given an immediate compensation of Rs 25,000 while the remaining Rs 3.75 lakh has been assured after completing the necessary paperwork.
