Woman arrested for killing 18-month-old daughter in Latur

Latur, Jan 21 (UNI) A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her 18-month-old daughter in an incident reported from the Shyam Nagar area of Latur, police said. The case is being investigated by the MIDC Police Station, Latur.
According to police officials, Vikram Jagannath Chougale (34) lived in Shyam Nagar with his wife Ashwini Vikram Chougale (30) and their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The family earned their livelihood through daily wage labour.
On Tuesday night, Vikram did not return home, which allegedly led to tension within the household. Police said that during this period, Ashwini reportedly lost control in a moment of extreme anger and emotional distress and attacked the toddler with a knife, resulting in the child’s death. No immediate intervention took place at the time of the incident.
