Kuwait City, June 12 (UNI) Eyewitnesses and survivors of the fire that engulfed the Al-Mangaf building in Kuwait City, claiming nearly 50 lives mostly of Indian nationals, recounted harrowing scenes of the tragedy. The passages on the ground floor of the six-storey building were shut, due to which people could not escape from the building, according to reports.
The death toll mounted to 49 in the evening, the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry said.
The death toll is expected to rise as rescue teams scoured the charred remnants of the six-storey building.
