Lucknow, Jan 13 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Monday appealed to the workers to work wholeheartedly for the Milkipur assembly by-election and said that winning the by-poll is very important for democracy.
In a meeting of leaders and workers of Faizabad, Ayodhya, and Milkipur at the party's state Headquarters, Akhilesh said that the party must win the Milkipur by-election. "This is necessary for democracy. The ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not be allowed to act arbitrarily in the by-election," he said.
He said that the BJP is unable to digest the defeat in Ayodhya during Lok Sabha polls. "To take revenge for its defeat, the BJP is adopting unethical tactics. By threatening the voters and misusing the administrative machinery, the BJP registered its victory on seven seats in the by-election. Everyone has understood the tricks of the BJP. SP workers will now give a befitting reply to the conspiracies of the BJP," he said.
