Western Army Commander reviews operational preparedness of forward areas

Jammu, Nov 7 (UNI) The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Command, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, today reviewed the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the forward areas under his command.
The Rising Star Corps of Western Command in a post on X, said, "Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, Army Commander, reviewed the operational preparedness of troops deployed in Forward Areas of Jammu, Kathua, Samba and Pathankot, ensuring they remain poised to respond to any contingency."
"He lauded their professionalism, seamless integration of emerging technologies, and unwavering commitment to the highest standards of operational excellence," said the post.

Liquor shops in Uttar Pradesh will remain open for an extra hour on Xmas & New Year

Lucknow, Dec 12 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Excise Department has decided to extend the hours of operation of all excise retail shops across the state in view of Christmas and New Year.
According to an order issued by the Excise Commissioner's office here on Friday, the opening hours for the shops during Christmas on December 24 and 25 and New Year's celebrations on December 30 and 31 have been fixed from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Lucknow, Dec 12 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor (UPDIC), one of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s flagship initiatives, is swiftly taking shape on the ground.
Envisioned to strengthen India’s defence and aerospace self-reliance, the project has already allotted more than 977.54 hectares of land to 62 companies. These firms alone have paved the way for investments worth Rs 11,997.45 crore and the creation of 14,256 direct jobs.
