Maha: Rain deficit raises drought concerns across Marathwada

Pune, Sep 22 (UNI) Maharashtra is witnessing a prolonged spell of deficient rainfall, raising concerns over the kharif season and the availability of water in the coming months. The situation is particularly serious in the Marathwada region, where several districts have recorded significant rainfall deficits. The region has reportedly gone nearly 50 days without satisfactory rainfall, resulting in a cumulative deficit of around 199 mm.
