Maha: Ten-day-long 'Navratra' festival begins at Karveer Nivasini Shree Mahalaxmi temple

Kolhapur, Sep 11 (UNI) The 10-day Navratri festival, one of the region's major celebrations, began on Sunday with the traditional 'Ghatsthapana' ceremony at the Karveer Nivasini Goddess Shree Mahalaxmi Temple in Maharashtra. 'Shree Pujak' Madhav Munishwar and main 'Purohit' Kiran Latkar performed an Abhishek on the idol of Mahalaxmi, followed by Western Maharashtra Devsthan Committee (WMDC) secretary Vasha Salunkhe performing a governmental 'puja' and then 'Ghatsthapna ' ritual and 'Alankaric' (figurative) 'puja' to mark the ten-day Navratra festival. An allegorical 'puja' of the Goddess will be performed every day based on 'Karveer Mahatm Granth ', which will also be available…
