Nagpur, Oct 11 (UNI) Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke today vowed to resume protests demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, asserting that neither he nor other party leaders had signed any undertaking barring them from staging further demonstrations.
"We will hit the streets again. We are not afraid of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah," Dipke told reporters at Nagpur airport before leaving for Hingoli to attend his grandmother's last rites. Declaring that repeated imprisonment would not deter him, Dipke said, "Put me in jail a hundred times; we are not afraid of your dictatorship. We will end this dictatorship."
His remarks came after Delhi Police released a video seeking to counter allegations that Dipke had not been informed of his grandmother's death while in custody on October 10. According to Delhi Police, the information was conveyed to him sensitively, and assistance was offered to facilitate his travel to his hometown to attend the funeral.
However, he declined the offer, police said. The video was released after Dipke's mother accused Delhi Police of lying, claiming that her son had not been informed about his grandmother's demise on Saturday.
