Firecracker sparks can cause permanent vision loss, warns Ophthalmologist Dr Anil Dudhbhate

Pune, Nov 4 (UNI) While celebrating Diwali, people should not overlook the risk of serious eye injuries caused by firecrackers, as sparks, intense heat and flying particles can damage the eyes and, in severe cases, lead to permanent vision loss, warned senior ophthalmologist Dr Anil Dudhbhate of Dudhbhate Eye Hospital and Retina Centre. He appealed to people to exercise caution while bursting firecrackers and give priority to the safety of children.
