Maha govt approves Rs 79.09 cr grant for public libraries

Mumbai, Oct 13 ( UNI) The Maharashtra government has approved the release of Rs 79.09 crore as the first instalment of maintenance grants to government-recognised public libraries in the state for the financial year 2026-27, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil said on Tuesday. A total of Rs 79 crore 9 lakh 42 thousand has been sanctioned for the purpose, he said. Patil said maintenance grants are provided within the prescribed maximum limits based on the expenditure incurred by libraries in the previous financial year and their respective grades and categories.
