Maha: Couple drowns in canal as husband tries to save wife

Bhandara, Oct 12 (UNI) A couple drowned in a canal at Korambhi village in Pauni tehsil of Maharashtra's Bhandara district after the husband jumped into the water to rescue his wife, who had accidentally slipped into it, police said on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Swapnil Ashok Bankar (29) and his wife, Pragya Bankar (26). The incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Ujwa canal near the Gosekhurd dam, close to Korambhi village.
