Maharashtra's Lasalgaon onion market, located in Nashik district, is widely known as one of the country's largest wholesale onion markets and is often described as Asia's largest onion wholesale market. What is the price of onions? According to available market information, in September 2026, wholesale onion prices at the Lasalgaon market have been around Rs36 to Rs48 per kg.
This means the wholesale price for one quintal is approximately Rs3,600 to Rs4,851. Prices vary depending on the quality, size and variety of onions. Retail prices, meanwhile, are currently reported to be around Rs55 to Rs70 per kg, putting additional pressure on consumers.
