Jalna: Revenue dept cancels order exempting Jarange associate from Rs 4.90 crore penalty for illegal sand excavation

Jalna, Sep 28 (UNI) The Revenue Department has cancelled a revised order that had exempted Sanjay Nanasaheb Katare, a close associate of Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange, from a penalty of Rs 4.90 crore imposed in connection with alleged illegal sand excavation from the Godavari riverbed in Ambad taluka. Ambad Sub-Divisional Officer Umakant Pardhi cancelled the revised order, restoring the original penalty order. Consequently, the financial charge on land bearing Gat No. 265 will remain in force, officials said.
