WATCO ensures 100 per cent household water supply coverage across 29 urban bodies in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 9 (UNI) The Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO) has achieved complete household water supply coverage across all 29 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) under its jurisdiction, marking a significant milestone in Odisha’s urban infrastructure development.
The achievement, along with WATCO’s future infrastructure roadmap, was reviewed at a high-level meeting chaired by Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra.
As of March 2026, WATCO manages an extensive urban water supply network serving more than 4.91 million people through 7,63,082 household connections. Strengthening this accomplishment is the successful rollout of the flagship “Drink from Tap” (DFT) initiative, which currently delivers round-the-clock potable water supply in 11 ULBs.
