Warmer days but cold nights persist as Jammu turns colder than Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 12 (UNI) Srinagar was warmer than Jammu City on Monday as day temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir showed a contrasting trend, with Jammu recording a maximum of just 9.6°C — lower than most parts of the Valley, officials said.
According to the meteorological department, Srinagar registered a high of 12.4°C, while Qazigund recorded 13.9°C. Pahalgam and Kupwara settled at 10.8°C and 10.7°C respectively, and Kokernag at 11.5°C.
Meanwhile, minimum temperatures across the Valley saw a slight improvement last night, though Kashmir continued to reel under intense cold conditions, officials added.
