Wanted cattle smuggler shot dead in Kapurpur Police encounter

Hapur, Nov 10 (UNI) A wanted criminal with a bounty of Rs 50,000 was shot dead in a late-night encounter with Kapurpur police, delivering a major blow to illegal cow slaughter networks in the region.
The accused, identified as Hasin, a history-sheeter from Sambhal district, was a known cattle smuggler. Acting on a tip-off, police confronted him when he reportedly opened fire on officers in an attempt to escape. The police retaliated, injuring Hasin, who later succumbed to his wounds during treatment, officials confirmed on Monday.
Superintendent of Police Gyananjay Singh said the incident occurred on the night of November 9–10. The Dial-112 control room had received information that some cattle smugglers were gathering prohibited animals for illegal transport.
