Viral video of man standing motionless in Chandigarh sparks concern over potential drug use

Chandigarh, April 18 (UNI) A disconcerting video circulating on social media platforms has drawn significant attention to the growing concerns surrounding substance abuse in Chandigarh.
The footage captures a young man standing in a public area in an entirely catatonic state, remaining motionless for an extended duration with his eyes closed. The scene is rendered more unsettling by the fact that the individual appears completely unresponsive to his surroundings, even while holding a bidi in his hand.
The video, filmed by a passerby, shows the individual maintaining a rigid, statue-like posture, showing no signs of physical movement despite the bustling activity of the area. This unusual behavior has led many social media users to speculate that the man might be under the influence of synthetic substances often referred to as "zombie drugs," which are known to cause extreme lethargy and loss of motor control. While the claims regarding the nature of the substance remain unverified, the footage has triggered a widespread debate regarding public safety and the visible impact of narcotics on the local youth.
