Villagers protest Metro Car shed in Maharashtra's Gove Village

Thane, Oct 12 (UNI) The Thane –Bhiwandi – Kalyan metro live five has hit a roadblock with over 100 families raising a protest against the construction of a car shed at Govegaon near Kon Village in Kalyan.
The villagers have claimed that they were successful in acquiring the said land after 30 years of struggle with the state and legal department and the land is their sole source of livelihood, thus they will not allow the car shed on this land.
The Gove locals have demanded that the metro authorities acquire the government land which is also in the same areas. The Kon-Gove Sangharh Samiti held a press conference yesterday to put forth their stand on the car shed project.
